Fred Dionne (Country-Folk)
From the release of his debut album, singer-songwriter Fred Dionne has stood out both on stage and in the media with a unique French-language country-folk-bohemian sound. With his charisma and catchy melodies, he quickly landed opening slots for Matt Lang and 2Frères across Quebec, while also bringing his first full show to major festivals, including LASSO Montréal. His debut album, Highways, made a strong impact on radio and reached the top of the charts, while earning him WKND’s Francophone Breakthrough Artist Award. He went on to win his first Willie Award for Song of the Year at the Gala Country, in addition to receiving his first ADISQ nomination for Country Album of the Year with the collective Grande Ourse.
Following a road trip through Nevada and California, the artist unveiled his second album, Eldorado. Fred Dionne’s latest musical project is a natural continuation of this inspiring journey. Mature and unapologetic, the album explores the pursuits of a musician with a bohemian spirit, the evolution of his dreams and aspirations, and, above all, the people who cross his path and share the journey with him.
With confidence and extensive live experience, Fred Dionne continues his Eldorado tour across Quebec. Following a summer highlighted by standout performances at Festival d’été de Québec, Festival Country Lotbinière, and Festival Western de St-Tite, he continues to captivate audiences with his true stories, charisma, and infectious energy.
The year 2025 further confirmed Fred Dionne’s growing presence on Quebec’s and Canada’s country music scene. In addition to a Canadian Country Music Awards nomination for Francophone Artist of the Year, he earned three ADISQ nominations: Country Album of the Year, Best New Artist, and Prix de la chanson collégiale. He also received a nomination for Lumières sur la relève at the ADISQ Radio Awards for the second consecutive year.
In 2026, Fred Dionne continues this momentum with a Canadian Folk Music Awards nomination for Francophone Songwriter of the Year, as well as winning the SOCAN Country Music Award, further cementing his place among the leading artists on today’s French-language country-folk scene.
